Certification Processes

Certification is based on assessing an individual's competences against the e-GIF Competency Framework; this is a process that is managed by the e-GIF Skills Tracker and involves self-assessment and validation by:

- Online Testing (the Foundation test is delivered by Skills Tracker)
- Peer Review (the Expert test is recorded in Skills Tracker)
- Courses Attended, and
- Qualifications Gained

Foundation test
Before sitting the online test, we recommend that you review the test briefing and instructions and complete a Skills Tracker self-assessment. The structure of the test is closely linked to the mandatory, core element of Skills Tracker and the Competency Framework.

For the months of November 04 - January 05, individuals who attempt and fail the Foundation exam will have the opportunity to have one free re-sit (value £100), provided it is utilised within two months of the first attempt.

Expert Review
Further information is available within the Expert Review Process.
