Openscotland
Information Age Framework (OSIAF)
The Openscotland Information Age Framework (OSIAF) was developed by the
Scottish Executive and its public service delivery partners in Scotland.
It sets out standards and specifications to be used by the Scottish public
sector and it provides a Scottish framework for developing and approving
interoperability specifications that support the delivery of electronic
services.
The OSIAF incorporates the e-Government Interoperability Framework (e-GIF)
and endorses its use in Scotland. Consequently the Scottish Executive
supports e-GIF Certification and Accreditation as methods of helping to
equip staff and organisations to deliver OSIAF compliant solutions.
The e-GIF Compliance Assessment Service can help public service delivery
organisations to benchmark their activity against the e-GIF element of
the standards set out in the OSIAF. Suppliers to the Scottish public sector
can use e-GIF Compliance Assessment Service reports to help demonstrate
OSIAF compliance by describing that their products comply with relevant
e-GIF standards.
More information about the OSIAF is available on the Scottish Executive
website at www.scotland.gov.uk/osiaf,
alternatively you can contact the Scottish Executive e-Government and
Take Up Team at osiaf@scotland.gsi.gov.uk
with any questions.

The Scottish Executive was a founding sponsor of the e-GIF Accreditation
Authority and it continues to participate in the ongoing development of
the service.
